“In the years of the previous five Steelers Super Bowl victories, the S&P 500 had an average return of + 25.5%. This is compared to an average return rate of approximately 9% in the years that a team other than the Steelers won the Super Bowl.”
I posted that at Sermo prior to the 2009 Steelers-Cardinals Super Bowl. Steelers did win and the S&P500 was indeed up 19.8% in 2009. So for the sake of your financial wellbeing, you got to root for the Steelers.
About one hour before the kick off of the 2009 Super Bowl, President Obama predicted Steelers was going to win on NBC Matt Lauer's pre-game interview. I then posted at Sermo: The “King” has spoken, and that is the way it shall be. You may or may not know that Obama is a big fan of the Steelers back in the days when he lived in Hawaii. So follow the leader, root for the Steelers.
