My
letter-to-the-editor of “Why flu vaccine didn't work last year”
was published at the Observer-Reporter today (12/16/2018).
On
Dec. 10 the Observer-Reporter had a lengthy (more than half a
newspaper page) commentary written by 3 scholars from the University
of Pennsylvania (Science of Science Communication and Annenberg
Public Policy Center), exhorting people to take flu vaccine. The
title of the article is “Countering misinformation about the flu
vaccine is harder than it seems,” a scholarly discussion as to the
difficulty convincing people of the merit and the need of taking flu
vaccine.
I
wrote a short letter explaining why the flu vaccine didn't work as
well as it was expected, lest people would lose confidence on flu
vaccine.
