On our trip to the America West a few years ago,
a congenial group of Taiwanese Americans from New Jersey and Pittsburgh were in the same
bus. We ourselves provided our own
entertainment on bus; a friend of us sang Jeanie
with the Light Brown Hair, revealing that he first sang it to his future
wife and continues to sing to this day as love never grows old. Reminiscing the love pursuit of his wife in his
younger days, Foster composed this song for the love of his wife, Jane (Jeanie).
