Right of way in our garden

When we visited the Yellowstone Park two years ago, we saw bison and elks crossing the road at leisure as if our tour bus were not there. They seemed to say this is our country; this is our home, thus we have right of way. The same is also true for the residents of our garden; they are saying this is our home and we have the right of way. They also know if we step on them, it will hurt us more than it hurts them.
