With our veggie/flower garden in the back yard and the size
of which required all our attention. The front yard was therefore left to
its own fate--consumed by the rampant growth of the weeds. An eyesore that it
is.
With the final phase of the gardening season falls upon us,
we can afford to spare some time and attention to the front yard. The
photo shows a day of work of weeding and planting hardy mums. I also
moved some of the flowers pots to the front yard; I am hoping the deer will not
find them delicious.
In June we transplanted some of the volunteer come-backs
zinnia to the side of the house; it is now in glorious bloom. Nearby
there are hydrangea, fig, crape myrtle (crepe myrtle), phlox, forming a
"side garden" in its own right.
This is a story of turning an eyesore into an eye catcher.
