An old gardener and his American beauty

This sign used to hang in the kitchen of Dr. and Mrs. Greenlee, with the passing of both of them; it is hanging in our kitchen now.  We earned the honor and privilege as we’re the most qualified couple to receive it:  there is an old gardener and after living more than 40 years in America, Katy can unabashedly claim to be an American beauty.


Today at Sermo there was a post talking about getting old; one doctor wrote, “When you get more excited about buying a new garden cart than new clothes.”—to which I wrote,

 
“Now my passion about gardening the past 4-5 years is simply telling me I am just getting old.  Nowadays we visited Lowe’s and Home Depot much more often than did Macy.
