Godsend veggies in our garden

We had salad of leaf mustard (小芥菜) and Chinese lettuce from our garden yesterday (they can be “stir-fry”, too.) And that’s Godsend.

These veggies have been around since last year.  We planted last spring and harvested before summer came.  We’re supposed to plant it again in the fall, but we forgot; it didn’t matter; they planted themselves; they came back on their own at the time when the garden “went to sleep”.  This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise; that’s God’s way of doing things.  Come to think about it, plants have been around billions of years before we came around.

They survived the winter and snow although they just sat there doing nothing (no growing at all) until the spring came. These pictures were taken on 12/10/2011 and the past two days (March 25 and 26, 2012) and they looked about the same.
